Oh, be still my beating heart. Another Scandi/Boho lifestyle store to tempt me and empty my purse.
India May Home launched just this week and features a very desirable collection of luxury furniture and homeware in a relaxed, bohemian style. Every product has been handmade by local artisans across India and Morocco and personally selected by founder Karen Birchenough on her travels around the world. And I think she must have had me in mind when she made her selections.
The store’s signature style is a fusion of Scandinavian and bohemian chic. There’s nothing on this earth that’s cooler than that. Karen says she has always had a passion for simple, pared-back interiors, so she used this as a starting point when designing the collection. The monochrome palette running through is classically Scandinavian but the details are exotic and imperfect, straight out of a Moroccan souk or an Indian market. We’re talking about handmade textiles, hammered metal and carved bone. Every piece reveals the handiwork of the artisans who made the products.
“I have always loved the calming qualities of a pared back interior, whether at home, whilst traveling or dining out. There is something so sophisticated and timeless about walking into a room with neutral qualities that enhance special pieces to draw the eye and take you on a journey. It appears effortless and yet it is achieved with some thought. Simplicity is beauty.” Karen Birchenough.
