Like everyone I know my thoughts have been turning to summer holidays recently. It’s pretty hard to ignore the yearning to get away at this time of year. Pure escapism is what I need. No phone, no PC and no Facebook. Just endless days of drifting, reading, eating and relaxing. Total bliss.

It’s not going to happen of course. There’s a garden to landscape and plant up, and pretty soon there is going to be a country cottage to renovate. And it’s while I was looking for rural living inspiration that I came across the Milano Collection at Zara Home. Too rustic for a small two up two down in Norfolk but oh, how inspirational are these images?

No frills, no embellishments, just simple rooms with the barest of decoration. Cool linen sheets, a lone vase, chunky wooden furniture and plain glass.
