Do you ever imagine what it would be like to own a homewares shop? Do you think about the kind of products you would stock? I know I do. I think the most exciting part would be traipsing the globe looking for authentic treasures. Things that your buyers couldn’t find elsewhere. And then there’s the pleasure to be had bringing it home. Not to mention styling, photographing and marketing all of those handpicked items. So when I chanced upon House of Flora my initial thoughts were ‘that’s exactly what I would stock!’
Introducing House of Flora
Sonal (an interior designer) and founder, runs House of Flora with a dedicated team. When they aren’t trawling for new products and designs, they are supplying the market with a wide range of gorgeous products. Items that really are sourced from all over the globe (dream job or what)! And this stems from having roots in India, Africa and Europe. Their products range from exclusive home accessories, to kitchenware, bathroom accessories, furniture, and lighting which includes Danish brand Nuura Lighting (featured on the blog before).
Each item is handpicked to ensure that it is unique, inspiring and authentic. They are also constantly updating their items to ensure exclusivity. This might mean that some items are in limited numbers but it also means you won’t see them everywhere you look.
I’m particularly loving the raffia handwoven cushions. And everything else raffia featured here too! Each one adds a beautiful element of texture to an interior. In fact, a lovely piece to add a boho vibe to your living room, bedroom, bathroom, or even in the garden or covered terrace.
The solid Black River Stone on a custom made stand is also edging closer to my online shopping basket. It would bring a sleek simplicity to a table, shelf or desk. As well as adding an ethnic chic touch to the home. A true winner for anyone (me) looking for a decorative item to make a statement.
