Manhattan Apartment with a View

Some days I wished I lived in an idylic country house, some days a gritty converted warehouse, some days a modernist mansion overlooking the sea. And some days I wish I lived in a modern Manhattan apartment with sweeping views of New York. Just like this one.

The view is the first thing you would see as you enter the space and the designer has certainly made the most of it. In fact there is even a couple of chairs positioned perfectly for a gin and tonic watching the sun go down. I love the position of the desk but I’m not sure I’d ever get any work done.

I’d love to see this part of the open plan room at night, as no doubt the view is even better for dinner parties. Notice the positioning of the rugs to section off the room for different purposes. It’s a neat trick.

And so is the positioning of the TV within the shelving. Something I have been thinking of doing at home only I might paint the wall behind in black and then the TV will completely disappear.

And who wouldn’t mind getting up in the morning to this view at breakfast?
