For those of you who lusted after the London home of top florist Nikki Tibbles in the November issue of Living etc, you might be interested to know that it is now for sale on the Domus Nova website. You just need a cool £5,950,000 to spare and it could be all yours!
What you’d be getting for your money would be a five storey terraced house in Notting Hill that includes an open-plan kitchen-diner/laundry on the lower ground floor and a living room/study area on the ground floor. Not to mention a second living room on the first floor, a master bedroom suite on the floor above and two guest bedrooms on the floor above that. Phew, that’s a lot of property in space starved London.
Outside space includes a patio garden, a terrace and two balconies. Plus it’s situated on a beautiful tree-lined street so you wouldn’t be starved of greenery either. But it’s on the inside that it becomes evident that this house belongs to a florist.
“It’s my way of bringing the outside in.” says Nikki in the magazine article, pointing to the layer upon layer of flowers – real, printed, painted and embroidered – that decorate each room.
Including my favourite Ellie Cashman wallpaper (above) that covers the walls of the ground floor living room.
And continues onto the curtains of the adjoining study area.
The pink walls of the first floor living room might give some respite from the floral explosion but the oversized painting above the fireplace reminds you of where you are.
And of course there are fresh flowers everywhere. As well as a vast collection of vases just waiting for their turn in the spotlight.
This house was made for me.
Do you think I could get a loan?
