The clever peeps at B & Q have come up with some ideas for how to spend the long weekend. Nothing too taxing. Just some quick and easy upcycling ideas that will bring an instant update to a room and maybe save us some money too. I’m a big fan of re-using what I already have and love to ring the changes with a coat of fresh paint, but wallpaper is also a good way to bring colour and pattern into our homes. And you don’t have to paper a whole wall!
I always top painted furniture with a plate of glass. It provides a nice wipe-able surface and ensures the paint doesn’t get scratched. But here wallpaper has been placed underneath which is a simple and easy way to update your old desk and it can be changed as often as you like. This is Colours Paste The Wall Travel Wallpaper (5397007127331) and Colours Asphalt Matt Emulsion Paint (5397007059748).
This is a great idea for upcycling old boxes or even old drawers and can liven up a dull corner in any room in the house. Colours Paste The Wall Cocktail Wallpaper (3699898).
Well, it’s such a good idea why not repeat it on the dressing table in the bedroom? Change the handles for some faceted glass ones, and you have a pretty, vintage inspired corner where you can powder your nose. Chrome Effect Round Knob Pack of 1 (5249220), Colours Evelyn Grey Wallpaper (5397007191011).
And this one couldn’t be simpler. Two wallpaper designs have been used to turn these clipboards into a feature. Colours Lace Damask Apple Green Wallpaper (5397007188059), Waterflower Blue Wallpaper (5397007189865).
