Well located in the city of Amsterdam on the corner of the famous ‘nine streets’, this calm and neutral apartment creates a peaceful space to disconnect from the busy city. The design of the apartment was inspired by a mix of nordic simplicity and Parisian elegance. And it was intended to be a quiet place to disconnect. The warm grey painted walls contrast with the dark wooden floor, and throughout natural materials have been used. This combined with design classics, and well chosen neutral colours results in a space that is contemporary and at the same time timeless.
Take a Look
To finish off the design The Nieuw collaborated with the interior design studio Ibiza Interiors . And also with their partner store The Modern in Amsterdam which introduced an interesting selection of furniture brands in the project. A mix of design classics from brands such as Carl Hansen, Fredericia, Gervasoni and DCW and conceptual furniture brands like Frama, Menu, Heerenhuis, Fermob and Ay Illuminate.
The apartment includes a wide living room in the front with large steel windows overlooking the Prinsengracht canal. Not only offering great views, and oodles of daylight but also the sunset behind the opposite canal houses. In the rear there is a large master bedroom with access to the balcony where the morning sun appears.
There is also a big bathroom with industrial finishes, including shower and bathtub. While the kitchen is also connected to the balcony where morning coffee can be enjoyed. Finally there is an office space which can be optionally used as a second bedroom.
The result is a peaceful and fascinating space where neutral colors and simplicity create calmness. And all this only a few minutes from the Hoxton Hotel, Soho House and the world heritage Amsterdam Canals. Even better it’s for rent! The Nieuw apartment is now being used as a showcase project for their signature and future developments and rental apartment designed by, and for design lovers.
