My Global Collector Collection at Joss & Main

When Joss & Main asked me to help curate a special collection based on my own style I had to really think about it. Like anybody else my personal style is constantly evolving. And as a designer and blogger I’m probably more exposed to passing trends and new collections than most! It’s very easy to give into temptation sometimes and I must admit I do, but a signature style is something that comes from within. It’s a combination of taste, experience, history and a huge dose of pragmatism.

The new house isn’t ready for photographing yet so I had a look round at the things that mean the most to me and really  sum up what I want my home to reflect. Comfort for me is key. It’s no good having a beautiful home if your guests don’t feel comfortable, and it has to be a place that you feel the most relaxed yourself. I love colour but I find it hard to live with it all around me all of the time. I prefer a softer more neutral palette with accents of black in accessories and warm wood tones. There has to be an element of the natural world around me. Plants, flowers, organic materials all play a part in my decoration. Moroccan influences seem to creep in without me even noticing and I love to keep around me things that I have picked up travelling. And I like a home to have a sense of history. Things that have special meaning and add personality. Without them a home has no depth.

Ta Dah! Here it is.

The Global Collector Collection.
