Last night I was very fortunate to attend the opening of the Joy of Living at Somerset House.
100 new and established designers were asked to create a one-off artwork out of a single sheet of A4 graph paper in a bid to raise £50,000 for Maggie’s Cancer Centres.
Masterminded by Max Fraser of the London Design Guide, each artwork is priced at £250 and only once sold will the name of the artist be revealed. For more information I recommend you read the interview with Max over at Confessions of a Design Geek.
The diversity of ideas and the creativity was astonishing and it was probably no surprise to anyone present that a third of the exhibits were already sold after only half an hour. Please don’t let that put you off though, the exhibition is well worth a visit and is on until 21st March.
