This stylish Shaker kitchen might have the look and ambience of a kitchen in rural France but it is in fact tucked away in the lovely Leicestershire countryside, and is a great example of how you can have a really special kitchen that oozes luxury and quality on a much smaller budget.
In fact it was created by the deVOL design team, who as we know are a renowned design led manufacturer of bespoke kitchens. Kitchens that are stunningly beautiful but are not exactly available to those of us who cannot afford a bespoke, designer price tag. Well, prepare to be amazed, because in this lovely kitchen the base cupboards, sink and brass fittings cost just over £5,000 and with a bit of clever up-cycling for the taps and worktops, the owners achieved a truly beautiful space for a very affordable price.
The kitchen layout is very minimal, there are just eight Shaker base cupboards, no wall cupboards or shelves, and a really clever mix of old and new fittings and furniture throughout the room. The open base cupboards ended up the star of the kitchen, as they are big and deep and hold all the pots and pans in one easy to access spot and best of all, the warm copper kitchenware literally shines out from the dark.
The worktops and taps were made on site, using old reclaimed scaffolding planks and garden taps. A really clever idea that is easy to copy and absolutely on trend at the moment with our love of anything reused and industrial in the home.
In fact the entire kitchen is a great example of how you can use deVOL’s Shaker modular cupboards to create so many different looks, and a great example of how they work for all budgets too. The owners put their heart and soul into making their home really special without throwing money at it, instead using their style and wisdom to make something that takes your breath away. And it truly does.
