Some new bedlinen is the easiest and quickest way to update the bedroom for spring. If you have kept the walls neutral, it’s even easier to introduce some fresh new botanical prints to give a whole new look and really bring the outside in. Pastel colours are always popular but don’t ignore the bold tropical prints that are in all the shops right now. Best of all? All of these examples are available on the high street and won’t break the bank.

RJR.John Rocha White ‘Willow’ duvet cover, now £36.00 – £60.00, Debenhams.
Fresh white really pops against darker painted walls while the coral accents add a jolt of colour.
Palm leaves, butterflies and tropical birds are bang-on-trend and coordinate well with smaller scale prints. A touch of copper in other accessories also continues the ‘exotic’ theme. This one is from Sainsburys Home although it doesn’t appear to be available online there are lots of other ‘palm print’ items to choose from.
Watercolour Striped Bedding Set, £39.50 – £69, Marks and Spencer.
A combination of blue and white always looks clean and fresh and these watercolour painted stripes even more so. It’s a pattern and colour combination that will never date and will always remind you of beach holidays and the summer.
