Sometimes all it takes to re-charge the batteries is a couple of days away.
This weekend the BF and I left London behind and headed to Cumbria to visit some friends that we haven’t seen for at least a couple of years.
They live in a tiny village on the edge of the Lake Distict National Park and their house is so pretty and so welcoming that it feels like staying in a country house hotel. Only better!
The weather was as hot as a summer day on Saturday and we wandered round the shops of Kirby Lonsdale. A quaint town in the National Park with a surprising number of interiors shops and a breathtaking view just a short stroll through the churchyard.
Or course we stopped for refreshments.
We also visited Blackwell, a beautiful arts and crafts house on the edge of Lake Windermere. Well worth a visit if you’re ever up that way.
Sadly I wasn’t allowed to take photographs inside but the view from the terrace was stunning.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t as kind on Sunday but it didn’t matter at all.
Good food, a few glasses of wine and fantastic company.
What more could you ask?
