This light and sunny apartment is located in Galvany, in upper Barcelona and is the home of Ronit, Rafa and Rafita who is 11. The family wanted to create a new home, all in white, with a huge space for the kitchen that is at the core of the house. They turned to Espacio En Blanco interior design studio to help them turn that dream into reality.
The neighbourhood itself is very friendly and family orientated with lots of small shops and a market; perfect for Ronit and Rafa (she’s from Israel and he’s from Barcelona) who are the owners of Totó restaurant and the Crustó bakeries in Barcelona and Madrid. Obviously they are both foodies and great cooks. It’s no surprise then to find that the kitchen is the biggest space in the apartment and is at the centre of everything, where they love nothing better than cooking for friends and family. It’s a very welcoming space.
They also wanted a home that was light and spacious and the designer’s have delivered that in spades.
The light bounces around the white space, reflecting off walls, floors and furnishings. The addition of brightly coloured stools and an armchair, punctuates the dazzling white with colour and interest.
The cosy bed is piled high with lace and crocheted pillows. In white of course. And the bathroom is a masterpiece in streamlined storage and efficient use of space.
I’d move in, in a heartbeat.
