There’s no harm in indulging in a little fantasy moment every now and then. And today it’s this stunning handmade kitchen from Humphrey Munson. It really is the stuff of dreams. My dreams. Everything I could ever put on a lottery winning wishlist and much more. In fact it’s much, much more than a kitchen. It’s a kitchen, dining room, sitting room, pantry, utility room and boot room. What more could you ever need?
Take a Look
Isn’t this the ideal layout for family life and for entertaining? The kitchen is centrally placed with the dining area at one end and a comfy sitting area at the other end. Yet it is flooded with light from both ends, not least because of that beautiful reflective floor and white worktops. The kitchen island is probably bigger than my kitchen at home, and it even has a walk-in pantry behind the cooking area. Now that’s what I call a fantasy moment all by itself.
The colour palette is perfect. Light and bright, with a contrasting dark kitchen island. Just what I’ve been banging on about for at least a year. I love the brass hardware, the elegant glass lanterns and the recessed stove. But best of all I love the position of that squishy sofa. That’s my spot right there. Preferably with a glass of wine while someone else cooks dinner.
And while we’re on the subject of that recessed stove, isn’t it beautiful? Don’t you just love that antique effect glass splashback and the handy shelves for herbs and spices? Look closer and you can see an actual fireplace and recessed TV in the sitting area.
Pantry
The walk-in pantry has a space for everything you need and don’t necessarily want in your show kitchen. But it’s still beautiful. Here the cabinets are painted in the same dark grey as used on the kitchen island. It creates a nice contrast. And those hand-built shelves are not just practical, they are stunning in their own right too. Glazed doors ensure the light flows through, but there are recessed spots below the shelves too. Nice touches are the iron rail and hooks for baskets and aprons, the glass pendant, and the oh-so-practical wooden steps.
Bootroom and Utility Room
And who doesn’t dream of bespoke cabinetry to hide boots, coats, and all the other paraphanalia that accumulates in the downstairs hall. It’s a part of family life, but keeping it all in one place is another dream of mine. Especially when it includes a handy seat to drop bags onto, or make it easier to tie shoelaces.
And to top it all – a gorgeous utility room for all of those dirty jobs. Or simply to keep vases and arrange flowers. As you do. In that fantasy life.

This is the most beautiful kitchen I have ever seen. It has EVERYTHING. Can you tell me the color and brand of the dark grey paint on the lower cabinets?
Thank you so much

Stunning isn’t it. I don’t know what paint colour that is but it looks very similar to Farrow and Ball’s Downpipe π

This kitchen is absolutely stunning in every way. I’m so glad I stopped by for the inspiration. Are the floors a limestone? Do you happen to know the source? Thank you!
deardesigner
Yes, it certainly has everything you’d ever need! I don’t know the source of the limestone I’m afraid π
