A Period Style Hallway and How to Cheat The Look

You don’t have to necessarily live in a period home to get the look you love. Yes, it helps if you have lofty ceilings, original features and windows to die for. But you can put period style into any room if you know how. The trick is not to try to recreate those features you love and wish you had, but to use modern interpretations in a contemporary way. Lifelike wallpaper will give the impression of panelling, without trying to copy the real thing. While window film will add the style and colour of stained glass, and encaustic tiles will add practicality to floors. And then, possibly the most important thing to remember – add some contempory details too.
