A Fresh New Look for the Spring Dining Table

With warmer, sunnier weather definitely comes a desire to freshen up our interiors too. Wool throws, knitted cushions and dark colours now seem a little heavy and sombre and wouldn’t it be lovely to just replace everything with pastel colours, blonde wood and a more scandinavian vibe?

It’s not so hard to achieve if it’s confined to just the dinner table for instance. Replace darker placemats with some simple pink and blue, and add matching candles. Keep the plates and bowls unpatterned, add a few wooden accessories, sparkling glassware and shiny cutlery and you have the perfect setting for a spring lunch. The addition of grey tones in the candles and smoky glass keep the scheme from looking too nursery-like, as do the copper pendant lights. And if you’re feeling really extravagant you could invest in some new pastel and wood chairs!
