Wicker is one of those wonderfully versatile materials that can not only looks good but works just as hard too.
It’s traditional good looks and inherent strength lend themselves to all manner of practical storage solutions from log baskets to laundry drums but when used decoratively (for lampshades for example) it also adds extra texture to any interior scheme. Interestingly, the term wicker actually refers to the making technique rather than the raw material, so wicker can be made from many different things including rush, seagrass, water hyacinth, jute and rattan. Which means it can be used for just about anything! And is!!
So whether you favour the rustic look of chunky baskets designed to bring an element of the outside in, elegant Edwardian inspired conservatory furniture, or more steamlined contemporary pieces, there will be some wonderful wicker for you.
