The Illusions Tile Collection from New Ravenna
Did you have a good holiday my lovelies? I have spent a week with family, eating, drinking and relaxing completely. A daily dogwalk blew away any cobwebs and made me feel just a bit less guilty about eating all that chocolate. And I had a complete break from social media too. It felt good.
But now I’m back and raring to go. I have a long list of jobs to do around the house, a garden to work on and lot’s of gorgeous new products to share with you all too. Including these stunning new tiles from New Ravenna.
Janus Petite in Aquamarine and Quartz jewel glass.
They are all from the new Illusions collection designed by Sara Baldwin and Paul Schatz consisting of seven mosaic designs hand crafted in natural stone, jewel glass and shell. The optical patterns are available in multiple colorways and the organic tones are inspired by land and sea. The mosaics have been hand cut and assembled by artisans on the Eastern Shore of Virginia but are available at all new showrooms throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Russia and Dubai.
Francois in Chinese Black honed, Allure honed and Dolomite polished.
Sara is fascinated with the challenge of creating texture on a flat surface. She says, “texture can be a physical combination of different materials by integrating shell, stone and glass to create surface harmonies and reflections. Or texture can be implied by adapting classic three dimensional patterns that have been explored throughout history. The storied legacy of these designs give them a sense of grandeur while being still completely modern and fresh. Integrating scale, color and materials brings the compelling illusions into our time.”
Gaston in polished Cream Onyx, Calacatta and Allure.
Christopher 2 in Nero Marquina, Thassos, Carrara, and Bardiglio honed.
Paseo designed by Paul Schatz in polished Cream Onyx, honed Allure and honed Calacatta Tia.
Every mosaic in the Illusions Collection is a custom creation, sized to fit each installation. They can be installed on both vertical and horizontal surfaces, indoors and out.
