The Finishing Touch – Landscape Prints and Botanicals

I’ve been looking for some prints for the living room for like, ever. It’s the only room in the house that is anywhere near where I want it, but the lack of some decent artwork was letting it down. I’d even hung the frames in readiness and stuck some black and white craft paper in them from Paperchase. Bad idea. It mean’t that I was limited to landscape shaped prints which are actually quite thin on the ground. Have a search, and you’ll see what I mean.

And then I heard from Desenio, who invited me to look at their website and choose some prints. Bingo. They have some really lovely pieces at some very reasonable prices. Even if you wanted to create a picture gallery from scratch, this is the place to look. It wouldn’t cost the earth. Okay, so you’d have to buy the frames, but as all of the prints fit Ikea frames that isn’t going to push the cost up by much either.

And they had some landscape prints too.

Navigating the website is really easy. You can search by subject, or size. Handy for people like me who already have the frame in situ. And they even have some suggestions for ‘the perfect pair’ which is also handy for people who can never make up their minds. That might be me again.

In the end I went for four landscapes and a couple of botanical prints. I always find landscapes so relaxing to look at (the forest ones remind me of Colombia and the watery ones could be any of several places I’ve travelled to) and the botanical prints are to appease my current obsession for anything green. And they will also look great with my new botanical cushions.

The landscapes I couldn’t wait to get up as you can see. The botanical ones will have to wait a while. I need to get frames and the corner they’re going in needs some reorganising. I won’t bore you but the bookshelves are going to get painted and papered inside I’ve decided today.

All in all I’m very pleased with Desenio.

The prints were gifts from Desenio, but all photographs and all views are my own.

Gorgeous choices, Carole! I spent quite a bit of time on the Desenio website and can’t get over how reasonably priced they are. I am also in possession of their botanical prints but I opted for black and white. They really are lovely.

Beautiful prints. I always love creating gallery walls, so this looks like a great place to go shopping for more.

Good find Carole, your room looks lovely (wouldn’t my emerald green radio fit in nicely on the side? ;)). I’m in the same dilemma as regards artwork for my living room – I want a large, wide landscape print – but I am very fussy. Will check out Desenio x

I adore botanical prints! You can never have too many in my opinion. My house is going to end up looking like a jungle if I continue this way haha
