Take Me Away – Vesper Hotel on the Dutch Shore
I’m feeling in need of a restorative break. A few days away, looking at the ever-changing beauty of the North Sea could be just what the doctor ordered. Impeccable service, craftsmanship and a feeling of peace and calm in an elegant hotel would be a bonus. Cocktails on the terrace no matter what the weather, an absolute must.
Vesper Hotel is the first boutique hotel on the Dutch coast which opened last summer. It’s situated in the beautiful and exclusive surroundings of Noordwijk and is only 1 hour from Amsterdam. There are 27 spacious rooms and suites, all uniquely designed, featuring vintage furniture, handmade mattresses, luxurious bathrooms, and some even have a sauna or a complete spa. Most rooms have a sea view and balcony.
If that’s not enough to tempt you, the breathtaking lobby, whose entire length looks out over the ocean, features a long cocktail bar. The brass and steel cabinet behind the bar towers from the basement to the roof, where a 1920’s stained glass roof-light floods the lobby with light. And I’m told the seasoned bartenders serve some of the best cocktails around.
Convinced? Let’s go!
