There’s one company that pretty much covers all the bases when it comes to Christmas and I have to tell you that whenever the latest brochure arrives in the post at home, I get as excited as though it’s one of my favourite magazines.

And isn’t the styling just exquisite?

It’s true, you never can have enough candles.  I have them all over the house at all times of the year but there’s nothing like the glow of candlelight reflecting off the glittery baubles on the tree or the silver on a festive table setting.

And I love these paper pendants.  A big trend this year but don’t let them get too close to the candles!  The napkin and cutlery bundle tied up with a simple ribbon and a star-shaped biscuit is such a good idea and one I’m definitely going to use at home.

And it wouldn’t be Christmas without some ivy.

And I’m going to let you into a little secret…you can claim a discount by clicking here and entering The White Company into the search button.

I haven’t done a ‘website wishlist’ for quite some time but I never need much of an excuse to have a little nosy round the website An Angel at my Table.

I can quite honestly say that I would like to take home every last item and the latest finds are no exception.  Of course, as usual it is all beautifully styled and shot.  Just take a look at my favourites.

Isn’t this canvas quite exquisite?  It would create such a stunning focal point in a dining room and lend such an air of elegance don’t you think?

And talking of elegance, I love this chair and footstool.  The proportions look perfect to me and the colour is stunning.  Only problem, I’d rather look at it than sit on it!

This ribbon cushion is so intricate and pretty.

And this image just conjours up all sorts of dreams of sultry summer days.  Dreams being the operative word.

And a couple of these would look mighty fine twinkling away in that elegant dining room in my mind.

Which websites make you go all dreamy?

Timea Sido is a young British Designer based at the prestigious Cockpit Arts in London.  She graduated from Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in 2001 and has since embarked on a successful design career.

Her Tangled Web collection, shown here, replicates an ever-tangling spider’s web which no longer has its symmetry and well structured lines but rather a wonderful randomness of criss crossed lines.

The wonderful attention to detail is Timea’s signature style.

“I was sitting in the garden admiring an amazingly structured spiders web, I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed by the delicate lines that structured it and the time it must have taken to create.

Suddenly a leaf flew straight into it and the whole web just tangled.  This unusual new beauty I had found inspired me to create my most delicate collection to date”.  Timea Sido.

Quite beautiful, don’t you think?

How nice would it be to forget family traditions just for once and have a totally white Christmas?

I’m not talking about the powdery snow kind, although that would be nice too.  I’m talking about…

A little mercury glass…

some silver…

some twinkling, dripping pearls…

White napkins and candles…

Some flowers…

Wouldn’t it be so nice?

Sainsbury’s have some lovely things coming into the stores this Autumn and Winter.

These are my favourites.

Clean, simple and modern.  Natural wood, neutral ceramics and subtle floral patterns.

Retro charm combined with a modern country-style and inspired by all things nostalgic.

Perfect for livening up the dreary winter months to come.  Bright burst of colour that might even get me into the kitchen.

What’s your favourite?

I just love the look of mercury glass.

It seems to satisfy both my magpie instincts for anything silver and shiny and my love of anything glass.  To have both in the same precious object is somehow much more than the sum of two parts.  And to have a collection of all of this gorgeousness, twinkling and glimmering as it does in candlelight must be like owning the crown jewels!

And so lovely and romantic when you add flowers.

Well you didn’t think I’d come home empty handed did you?

Marrakesh really is a shoppers dream.  From the bustling souks in the medina, to the new town, to La  Zone Industrielle there is temptation at every turn.  Everywhere there is a spectacular blaze of colour, tantalising scents and beautiful workmanship.  Get the hang of haggling and you might even pick up a bargain.

I was always going to buy a wedding blanket.  It was a done deal.  And I absolutely love it.  Authentic and heavy and with a satisfying tinkling sound from all those sequins every time you shake it.

I’m also a sucker for anything that glistens. So the small glass and silver tray for serving tea to guests was soon in my shopping basket.  Perfect for holding perfume bottles on the dressing table or in the bathroom.

The embossed mirror is beautiful.  Small but perfectly formed.  It doesn’t have a home yet but I’m working on it.

The scented candles with beaten metal lids and colourful tassels have pride of place on the coffee table and smell divine.

The dusky beauty in the black and white photograph was waiting just for me.  Provenance unknown, but she will be a constant reminder to me of mint tea and the sometimes comfy, sometimes not, tradition of reclining on cushions.

And if I use the essential oils daily – good for eye bags and wrinkles, or so I’m told – I may become as beguiling as she.

The slippers are a present for a friend….maybe :-)

But oh, the things I had to leave behind.  The Ben Ouiran rug (too big for my suitcase and just a little out of my budget), the silver teapot, silver tray and rainbow coloured glasses, the punched metal lanterns (also too big but so very tempting) the leather pouf and so much more…

*sigh*

The forecast is good!

So dust down those deck chairs, fire up the barbie and have a wonderful weekend!

And just in case you haven’t dropped by the Heart Home magazine blog this week this is what you’re missing…

Candy coloured Maribowls

Website of the Week – Rowen & Wren

Contributors Corner – Ruby Rhino

Another inspirational website with some gorgeous homewares to tempt us and  just waiting to be snapped up.

Here are my five favourites…

I love the colours of these ceramics.  Evocative of foreign holidays but without the clashing hues that often jar with our schemes at home.

A simple white tablecloth is always useful and elegant.  Who mussed it up?

In keeping with the current trend for beautiful but utilitarian.

Aren’t they gorgeous?  Again, love the colours!

And this can find a home in my garden any day.

Idyll Home

My Sunday afternoon surf this week brings you my five favourite items from Jodie Byrne.

Beautiful home accessories, beautifully styled.

What can I say, I love it all.  The pastels look so pretty together…

These planters look so elegant.  Just the thing to add class to a simple geranium…

And this is where I’d like to cosy up on a Sunday afternoon.  Maybe a little painting?  Maybe a little reading?  Maybe a little nap?!

Leather and fur, and white washed walls and floorboards.  It works!

And so does this, don’t you think?
