It’s a busy time at Heart Home magazine.
Issue 2 is starting to take shape and Arianna and I are now in the middle of photoshoots and all of the preparations, for what is promising to be a fantastic Christmas issue.
Now here’s a thing. We were at a house shoot last week where the owner was using a wooden shoe last as a doorstop. It didn’t make it into any of the shots unfortunately. I glanced at it for a moment and then my attention was diverted elsewhere and it was forgotten.
Then at the weekend – at another shoot – this time in one of those French reclamation type yards, the wooden shoe last suddenly appeared again. Not the same one you understand, figuratively speaking, and this time we used a couple as props.
You know where I’m going with this story don’t you?
I’m now the proud owner of a pair of unrestored shoe lasts. Size three – from a French shoe factory. I’m told that a quick rub down with some wire wool and some wax and they will look amazing, and I will add it to my list of jobs that never seem to get done somehow.
I don’t care, I love them.
