Reflections and Resolutions
Posted by in TravelAre you enjoying the snow my lovelies?
Just this time last week I was enjoying the balmy weather and blue skies on Gran Canaria. And I have to say relishing the luxury of the 5* Sheraton Salobre courtesy of a very good deal on Secret Escapes.
It really was a time of complete relaxation. The hotel exceeded my expectations in all respects (except maybe the prices of the spa treatments and green fees, ouch!) and it was stunning inside and out.
But probably my favourite spot of all was on one of the sunbeds on the crest of the hill behind the Sunset Bar. With 360 degree views, curtained four posters, comfy mattresses and a cold drink in hand, who would want to be anywhere else?
It was lovely at sunset too.
I did venture a few steps with the camera occasionally…
and we even left the hotel once or twice…
but why bother when you have everything you need?
But life has a way of bringing you back to earth sometimes and I came home to bad news. My lovely dad passed away and although it wasn’t completely unexpected it was still very sad. Considerate until the last he seemed to wait until the day I came home.
I’m not looking for sympathy so please don’t feel the need to comment, I just thought that now would be a good time to make a rather belated New Years resolution. We are all so busy most of the time that sometimes we forget the important things. I intend to change the work/life balance for the better this year. Make time for your loved ones my lovelies and most important of all make time for yourselves.
