We all know that children like a little nook. That’s why they like a tree house or a wendy house. Somewhere to hide from the grownups and feel secure and private.
We all know that cats like to sit perched on the highest place possible in a room from where they can survey the occupants and feel superior.
But how many of us secretly crave a little reading nook? I know I do.
Ideally it will be enclosed on three sides. All the more cosseting. If it has a curtain across the opening, even better.
It has to have a view out of a window. So that I can see out without being seen and so that I can have lots of daylight for reading and writing.
It has to be comfortable. Most important rule of all. Lots of pillows to lean against and if I should decide to take a little nap, well, I won’t even have to move.
Bookshelves would be a bonus. Plus a little reading light.
And if it happened to be a little elevated, then I really would be in heaven.
Do you have a reading nook?

The reading nook under the stairs is great. I’m feeling inspired to create a reading nook in my own home.
