Inspiration and Michele Varian

November 26th, 2012 | Posted by deardesigner in Inspiration | Interior Design

The final shoot for the next issue of Heart Home magazine was wrapped up on Saturday and I’m so excited by it that I wish I could show you all now!  Unfortunately  you’ll have to wait until the 6th December.  All I can say is that our stylist Claire Morgan and photographer Andrew Boyd did such a good job that I left them Saturday night so inspired that I wanted to rush home and start decorating my own home for Christmas straight away.  I didn’t of course, I was much too exhausted, but I hope you’ll love it as much as I do.

Speaking of inspiration.  I came across the Pinterest boards of Michele Varian at the weekend and I’m so glad I did.  When I was in New York earlier this year we had a chance to visit Michele’s shop and it was one of the most inspirational shops of the entire trip.  And we visited some shops I can tell you!

She has curated one of the best collections of homewares I’ve seen that would beguile anyone interested in the unusual and the eclectic.  As you wander deeper and deeper into the shop you can’t help but stop at every tabletop and every shelf display to look closer and to touch and investigate all of the wonderful wares.

Currently displayed against a backdrop of the darkest walls, it’s so inspiring that you might get lost in there for hours.  It’s definitely worth a visit next time you are in the big apple.

Michele Varian, 27 Howard St, NYC.

PS. Michele’s displays are not all so dark and sinister, this is just her pinterest boards for a suggested Thanksgiving dinner.  I love it!
