Taking its cue from Julia’s Hungarian and Polish roots, her new range presents a wealth of exclusive woven designer fabrics across five collections that extends to include a beautiful array of cushions, tablecloths, lampshades and throws in a wide choice of sizes.
All are designed to echo Julia’s passion for folk designs, costumes, lace and embroidery, and the fabrics are a beautiful mix of intricate patterns and refined colour palettes that pay homage to a creative fusion of different cultural influences.
From lavish silks and textured chenille to cotton, linen and silk blends, the designs are meticulously created with the technique of Jacquard weaving which, unlike print, allows most fabric ranges to be reversible.
And for me they are just perfect for adding that extra layer of interest to interior schemes. They look as if they could be family heirlooms passed down the generations along with the family silver and the portraits of ancestors.
A little subterfuge is what it’s all about.
