We’re having some work done in the garden at Dear Designer’s house. Well actually, the BF is doing the work and I am ten steps ahead as usual planning the finishing touches.
The typically British summer is not helping matters much. So far, the newly dug trench that will be the patio has filled with water and established a massive colony of tadpoles. But I’m hoping that in a few weeks this will be but a distant memory and a new deck will have taken its place. Fingers crossed!
I’ve been mulling over new furniture and I’ve been quite undecided. All I know is I don’t want a matching set of table and four chairs. How boring. And then my sister mentioned a new chair she had just bought at Ikea and I did some digging (yes more digging but not in soil this time!).
And lo and behold, coincidences of coincidences, within an hour Ikea has sent me these gorgeous images of their latest garden furniture and I am smitten.
I think I’m going to go for the white dining chairs and I love the wood topped trestle table and maybe one white armchair for when I put my feet up

Oh Ikea – you can spend so much money just setting foot in the door. I am still waiting for the British Summer to begin so I can get on with my garden, I’m hoping it hasn’t already been and gone and I’ve already missed it?
Also am I the only one who likes matching table and chairs in the garden?
I totally agree with you! Ikea is dangerous especially when you enter it with a credit card
I agree also with chairs – the same are boring. Maybe try to buy two wooden ones and two wicker ones?
I Love the white chairs too Carole. I just don’t dare go to Ikea-need to save up-I have a feeling I’ll be spending A LOT!
Haha, I know the feeling well.
