I Spy – Helen Amy Murray……….
I first noticed Helen Amy Murray’s work a few years ago – long before I was writing a blog.
I first noticed Helen Amy Murray’s work a few years ago – long before I was writing a blog. I bookmarked it, as you do, and occasionally looked at it, and thought one day I’ll find a client who will appreciate her work. Then came a change of pc’s and the bookmark was lost. I didn’t forget but I couldn’t quite remember the name.
Thank goodness she was there at Decorex.
Helen’s passion for surface relief came to the fore when she visited India for a three-month research trip and became fascinated with the carvings in wood and marble and she became motivated to translate similar effects into textiles.
These days she works from her East London studios drawing inspiration from nature, and from the city and its architecture.
“I’m excited about fabric manipulation and using innovative techniques, beautiful, luxury materials and design, to create couture for the high-end interior and arts markets.”
Take it from me, close up her work is exquisite.
