I think we’re all hoping for a better summer this year.

I don’t think I have ever spent less time in the garden, and the ‘little’ project that BF started in early summer to build a new deck/patio didn’t in the end get finished until December!  The weather was just not kind to him.

But a very handsome deck it is, if a little bare.  It is a bit like an empty room at the moment.  The bones are good but it needs furnishing and dressing and I just can’t wait for warmer weather so that I can get out there and plant up some pots.

I’m still debating the style I’m going to go for but I love these seventies inspired pieces from the Spring/Summer collection at Habitat.  The graceful curves of the indoor/outdoor rattan demonstrate a high standard of craftsmanship and balance out all of the straight lines.  They look comfy too.

And I can’t wait for my deck to weather down to this more mellow shade too!
