Earthy Emeralds from H&M Home

H&M Home is fast becoming my go-to place for affordable and bang-on-trend home accessories. I’ve bought so many things there for the country cottage that the final reveal might be in danger of looking like a product shoot. Only joking. But seriously, I do find it hard to resist many of their decorative accessories as they have this knack of using dark, sludgy colours in natural materials that disguise the fact that they are budget items. And now, the new spring range is definitely pulling on my purse strings.

I’ve been telling anyone who cares to ask that Botanicals will be a big trend for 2016 so anything green and leafy is on my radar, and I think that H&M have nailed it beautifully. They call it their Earthy Emerald range and it features large scale leaf motifs, wood, metal, and green glass. The emerald is just the right green for me. It’s rich, and dark, and moody, which is just the feel I’m hoping to achieve at home. And they have styled their rooms with a healthy dollop of real, green, healthy plants. Maybe not so easy for me to achieve at home.

I may not be popular for saying so, but there is a lot to be said for following trends with accessories only. They are easy to change when you tire of them (it doesn’t hurt the wallet as much as redecorating for sure), and they can be a quick fix when you are impatient to see immediate results. Guilty as charged.

Maybe it’s not such a bad thing thing that I’ve had to wait two years without putting paint and paper to walls. Maybe I should just buy a new duvet cover, some green vases, and some plastic green leaves instead?

Absolutely adore that bedding … I had a look on the h&m website but can only find that bedding in a single size and not double! 🙁

Oh my, everything is green! I like this Earthy Emerald concept. Makes you wonder why did we leave forest in first place.

I love their stuff which makes it so dangerous in terms of “I have enough stuff already!” and – as you said – being careful that my home doesn’t end up looking like a set for a product shoot! But, they’re soooo tempting…maybe just a little something… 😉

J’adore H&M at the mo. They are just nailing it with their home ranges and this one in particular just has a really polished look to it, but is so affordable. Lovely post Carole!x

Thanks Karen. Bit disappointed that the duvet cover is only available in a single at the mo 🙁 Hoping a double will be available soon. x

Me too Rachel. I’ve always liked green but it went out of fashion for a while. x

I was just looking at the H&M Home shop this morning, and coveting the green glassware. That soap dispenser is definitely going in my shopping basket! Nice to see some photos of the pieces in situ here, they look fab!
