Before I disappear for the Christmas break I just want to say a big thank you to all of my lovely readers.  I am so grateful for your support and for all of you comments throughout the year, on the blog and on twitter.  Without you blogging would be a lonely old pastime.

Without this little old blog I would not have met my two new best friends and partners in crime, Arianna and Daniel and without them, Heart Home magazine would not exist.  Thank you to them too.

The magazine without a doubt is my biggest achievement to date.  All three of us have been overwhelmed with the response it has received.  The first issue has clocked up over 85,000 readers and the current issue has had over 55,000 readers in the first two weeks.

Of course without all of our contributors this would not have been possible at all.  The fact that they had faith in us and continue to do so has been the biggest encouragement of all.  Thank you to each and every one of you.

And last but not least I would like to thank my long-suffering BF, my family and my friends.  They have supported me throughout the year and have not complained at all that I see more of my computer screen than I do of them.

I hope you all have a very happy Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.

A little departure this week from my normal Saturday post.  Instead of sharing my favourite images from other blogs, here are my favourite images from the fabulous, current issue of Lonny magazine, where I lingered far too long…

A little change to my usual ‘Saturday Share’ post.

This week I want to share with you, three little (well, actually not so little)surprises that turned up on my doorstep over the past few days.  They say that things come in three’s and this week that was very true…

First up, I won a competition!  Not just any old prize either. A prize I chose myself!  So a big thank you Conran Shop for my wonderful, chunky, cosy and warm, cable knit throw…

The website picture doesn’t do justice to its gorgeousness, so here’s how inviting it looks on the end of my sofa…

And then, as if that was not enough excitement for one week, these beautiful flowers arrived from Interflora.

Inspired by the look of the blog, a wonderful explosion of colour in a matt black vase.  I took these photographs in the conservatory because it’s so hard to get enough light in the house at this time of year…

but this is where they look at their adorable best…

and yes…

And last, but not least.  Another little surprise arrived, again from the Conran Shop.  Thanks guys!  From their recent Magical Forest window display and hand-made by the Hastings and Bexhill Wood Recycling Project, out of discarded wooden pallets that would normally end up at landfill sites.

You can buy the trees in store, with 50% of the proceeds going back to the project but if you also head over to the website on Monday you can win a new prize every day in the run up to Christmas. All you have to do is be the first to find a magical tree just like this, that has replaced a product on the site.

What do you think? Do the flowers reflect the style of Dear Designer’s Blog?
