A Shepherd’s Hut of One’s Own
Do you crave some peace and quiet away from the family sometimes? A little room of one’s own where you can read, knit, dream, SLEEP, without interruption. Well, I can’t think of anything more sweet and romantic than a Shepherd’s Hut from Plankbridge.
The Classic Shepherd’s Hut is an incredibly versatile space, with its 12’ by 6’6” footprint which is perfect for anything from hobby rooms and artists’ studios to home offices and even a library. Richard Lee and Jane Dennison of Plankbridge first began creating these huts in 2000, and each is lovingly constructed using the highest quality materials. Every hut is unique and as pioneers in their field the team embrace the challenge of innovative new concepts, combining the very best of the old and the new to create the perfect gift that will stand the test of time.
The Classic Shepherd’s Hut, complete with English oak windows and door, French oak floor and a Farrow & Ball painted interior, starts at £18,025 including VAT. The smaller Writer’s Hut is available from £11,276 plus VAT, while the Heritage Shepherd’s Hut, with its pine floor and heritage style unpainted timber frame, begins at £11,940 including VAT. It may seem a lot to pay but it’s comparable with many garden office constructions and has so much more character! You can even take it with you when you move.
They would even make perfect guest accommodation as long as your guests are not expecting an en-suite. I think the cosy interior would more than make up for the lack of mod-cons. And if you were thinking of ordering one in time for the holiday period to cope with the extended family, you need to be thinking of it now.
Orders need to be placed by early-September to ensure delivery in time for Christmas.
And you can put my invitation in the post.
